S24(1) - Othan (Odin)
You know your on to a winner, when a close friend logs in and see's you all white :)
After probably the longest dev cycle I have ever done may I present S24(1) - Othan(Odin) , 4 alphas , 3 betas, 2 RC's and build numbers from 1725 -> 2182. It has all the features that were present in S23 but much more. I have done some code comparison and in terms of sheer complexity and difference it is miles away from your out of the box client. It is based on 7.1.13 at its core but contains a shed ton of viewer develop , release 2025.4 , Leviathan and sadly the last of Dave P's brilliant efforts.
For those lucky few that possess the hardware and the raw CPU power this client will blow the water out of anything available, happily consuming lots of vram and as many cores as you can throw at it. But what you get is a client which will eat polygons for breakfast with super smooth rendering and near instant production of a scene. I have completly re-wrote the core math utilising every single trick in the book.
The shaders have also recieved much attention, the UI has been gently tweaked following feedback from great bloggers such as Inara Pey. And most crucially what S24 lacks in quality of life features is compensated by lots of future prep under the hood, such as OpenXR and LUA (alpha soon).
But at it's heart I have stuck to my core philosphy and worked to produce a very high performing, LL code compliant offering, including all the latest features and tweaked to maximum effect.
