S24(6) Release! Time for a Coffee :)
Fantasy Faire a perfect place for cache testing, And a good cause to boot!
The Latest Incarnation of Kirsten's has been posted at build 3300 and has a few fixes and minor alterations from the RC version so I wont post the full changelist. The alterations are a refinemnt of the ram cache and bringing in the help guide in pure XML to avoid HTML loading times. A few compatible and worth while LL patches and a couple of bugfixes. One a hilarious logic reversal which would have gone unnoticed for ages had I not been working on debug views! The other noteworthy mention are the water presets, these allow the end user to alter the actual render, I have included a couple of examples to play with namely Default (LL standard), Better Old Linden, and Crystal Clear.
You get the gist but where a user has no control over the water ie: renting / mainland these allow a clientside ability to adjust some water parameters without the need to turn off the shared environment. if anyone comes up with a good preset give me a shout and I will include it in future versions! :) Also these can actually enhance custom WL water in some very cool ways.
So now to the coffee! Im in a bit of a bind here, what to do next? the issue at hand is having looked at some of the upcoming code should I keep in lockstep with the basecode maintain the hybrid or continue to drift and divirge.
see the image below...
Thats Inventory (and yes it worked roughly) its not openGL its living outside the main window! You see if I go that path it means putting a freeze on the code to the point that keeping up with LL changes could be an issue! Now we are currently maintain / hybrid. The last round of Patches from develop was telling in this respect one applied, one not applicable and one refused due to S24 having a vastly different approach. I think the truth is there is no straight answer here, I do know there are some monsters lurking in the wardrobe stumbling onto JC's code from 2005 made me smile. It's a minefield!
Anyhoo Lets see where things lead :)
Enjoy the Release!
Much Love,
KL
