S24(6) Build 3273 Release Candidate !

 

So we are nearly there! Basically everything that has been lurking in the previous builds has been refined, enabled, and put in motion. The release candidate will be the last build before final release. Any major bugs, let me know.

Lysi is the result of nearly a year’s worth of effort resolved into a single point.

Code for example like the S24 engine — the first baby steps were way back in FARA. The refined build process started way back with OTHAN and continued out to VETR.

The redesigned SLplugin (Security) and other choices from SJAANDI are now here in the form of a shutdown system and selectable audio engines.

VFX started as CPU‑bound but evolved into OpenCL. User requests such as audio metadata, FPS counter, and Group Chat have been included. Some of these requests date back 6 years :)

The core is pulling from 2026.2 (mostly),and also of note, some design choices I made way back in build 2010, well these have paid off.

Due to my focus on Windows only, the viewer now has an up‑to‑date llwindow backend. This enables lots of good stuff: better CPU detection and REAL Borderless Fullscreen (similar to AAA games in form and function).

It is not by accident that the viewer is where it’s at — fast development and a laser focus on the choices made back in 2024 and eventually you get where you want to go :)

- Anaglyph 3D v10.6 rewrite: new modes, ultrawide fix, dual-eye shadow tune.
- SSR reflection controls (v1) with proper zero-off behavior.
- Selection beam update: particles, line, or hybrid + custom colors.
- Dynamic light culling with scene-aware distance tuning.
- Shadow cascades: distance throttle, texel snap, underwater tune, user toggle.
- Extended tonemapping: more curated tone maps.
- Water controls v2 overhaul.
- GLTF/PBR respect + planar alignment fix (LL #5676).
- Hysteresis band to reduce draw-distance popping.
- FPS now based on GPU completion timing.

- AO motion leak fixed (FIRE-3801): stale set buildup removed.
- Texture fetch shutdown path improved (LL #475).
- LLTextBase optimization merged (LL #5626).
- Render/texture/network hot-path spam and redundant work reduced.
- Windows P-core + MCSS scheduling for smoother frame pacing.

UI and Skins
- New gold Hyperion skin (Lysi).
- New icon set across the viewer.
- S24 visual menu (optional icon-driven menu).
- Modern splash and login refresh.
- Compact S20-style chat bar rebuilt on modern code.
- Advanced profiles with expanded image support.
- Borderless fullscreen mode performance improvements.
- Modern resolution picker floater.
- RAM cache stats floater with persistent position + transparency.
- S24 Engine UX cleanup: clearer labels, better defaults/ranges, layout pass.

Audio

- Recording/playback decoupled from UI; up to 1 min smooth 60 fps loops.

- Role-member-not-loaded feedback added (LL #2965).

- Experiences search + classifieds rating label fixes.
- LLJointData support category init from avatar skeleton (LL #5639).
- Underwater nametags shown when camera is above water (LL #2888).
- Teleport/login progress view and status readback corrected.
- KVTweaks max local lights raised: 1024 -> 8192.

Build and Infra
- CMake modernization (phase 1-2), legacy/Darwin cleanup.
- Full vcpkg migration: hunspell, libxml2, OpenAL, tinyexr, nanosvg, zlib.
- Legacy Python/autobuild retired; replaced by PowerShell automation.
- DXRender foundation scaffold (experimental long-term D3D path).
